day 280 - Canberra floriade &national museum
Written at 10:58 PM on 08 October 2011

dear reader;

Yes. I'm in Canberra, in the Diplomat Hotel.
It's 4 1/2 stars. Apparently...

So I left my house at around 7:30 in the morning... and just slept for most of the ride, because I only got 6hrs of sleep before. Yeah, I slept at like 1:30 after going on a high for finishing my robes. :LLL

Our first stop was the flower exhibition, Floriade, which is pretty boring. Actually, it's alright to some extent, because it has yum food. Decent food. It's like the Easter show, minus the animals and smell, so I guess it's better in a way! Less people too, I think. The weather got better too!!
There were these really nice "Vienna" nuts (really yummily roasted macadamias and almonds)!! And this is coming from a person who doesn't really like nuts. THEY WERE DELICIOUS.  I ate nearly the whole packet! ><

We walked around the whole place, saw lots and lots of tulips, dandelions and some other species of flowers which were like little flower shrubs. We eventually wondered to Gnome Knoll (I think that's what it was called), where you could paint gnomes!!!! XDDDD
So yes, I can cross - PAINT of THE LIST, even though I've painted other stuff. I JUST WANT TO CROSS AS MANY THINGS OFF THIS LIST!!

 PAINT

I've called my gnome Merlin Jnr. Because yeah.
There were some pretty creative gnomes there as well (if you wanted to enter the competition. I wasn't bothered because it meant that you needed to collect it next Sunday, otherwise they would chuck it out! D:).
Some were themed, like Harry Potter, Wicked (Elphaba), Mario Cart, and the KFC dude!! I don't know how they managed to add bits and pieces though. Some gnomes had other bits/looked different, and no, not because of the beard/illusions...

Yeahhhhhhh. After, we walked around some more. We then realised that the tulips were actually arranged in patters/designs...
Like a cake o.o
Walked around some more, ate these DELICIOUS miniature doughnuts, Then it started spitting, so we legged it out of the garden. :L

Ummmmmmmmmmm
After, we rove to the National Museum to see the new horizons ' exhibition or something, which only opened last week and is on until the end of January 2012!
It's a collection of works from Chinese artists from around the 1950's onwards. I think.
It was pretty cool and awesome :)
And my mum reckons the lighting was really dark and stuff because she thought that if it was really bright, it would kill the quality of the works, since the media that they used (especially the oil paints) were probably kind of dodgy...

I only knew three of the artists in the whole exhibition. Lol.
Shen Jia Wei and his wife Lan Wang (or is it Wang lan? O_O) and Xu Bing.
Shen and his wife reside in BUNDEENA! (The place which I went last week)
And XU BING's actually the dude that we had to research/do an assignment on for art in year 7! REMEMBER THE ANNOYING WRITE YOUR NAME IN ENGLISH, EXCEPT IN CALLIGRAPHY STYLE TASK?! Yeah, that's him. :L

For dinner, we went to the "Chinatown" of Canberra, which is basically just a whole suburb of restaurants and Asian stores! YAY. -.-
We walked up and down a street, deciding where to go. I wanted to have Italian/pizza or even Jap, except my dad wanted to go to the Buffet T_T.
In the midst of this discussion, we came across this Asian store (imagine Morning Glory, but with more CDs and DVDs and less other random stuff). Saw lots of KDRAMAS on disks/discs. WHICH ONE IS IT?!??! DISK? DISC? Anyway, apart from dramas, they had Palte hair dye. I wanted to buy some! Except they were like $24/$28. >_> Actually, I think that's the RRP... meh. CBB.
IN  THE END I BOUGHT A PAIR OF ANGRY BIRD SLIPPERS. XP
And I'm wearing them now, as I type. They're the black bomb birds :D
And they're very nice and soft. And they're keeping my feet nice and warm :D:D

Anyway, for dinner, we went to this buffet. We got it 10c cheaper since my mum didn't have any more coins. :L
Except the food was dodgy. T_T
They didn't have any decent seafood/food!!

YEAHHHH...
I read about 30pgs of Sophie's World when we were driving from place to place. :D

day 280: list everything you like about yourself, and explain why. What makes you unique?
I am awesomely independent which can be useful at times. I don't really care what others think of me, because it is my life, so why should I make anyone else change anything?

Also, I thought this was pretty... Lol.
Rule breaker: The actor brazenly leant against a wall which clearly displayed a no smoking sign as he enjoyed his cigarette
until next time;
