day 277 - Kidstuff Trial.
Written at 10:33 PM on 05 October 2011

dear reader;

I REALLY WANT TO GET THE JOB!!!! D:D:D:D:D:D:D

So yes, today I had a trial at Kidstuff. OMGSH IT WAS SO FUN.
I did 3 main things as part of my trialing/testing.
-choose toys suitable for a 6mth girl, and 8yrs boy
-wrap 2 presents
-put together a toy

So the first thing I was told to do was choose 6 toys for a 6mth girl and 8yr old boy. I tried to remember all things that we covered in year 8 textiles, where we had to meet the design brief/sustainability compass etc. Lol. Didn't really work. I just said the toys were 'visually pleasing, increase stimulation of imaginative play, hand-eye coordination etc. :PP
BUT IT WAS COOL 'cause I got to play with some of the toys.

Then I had to wrap 2 presents.
Far out man, who bothers wrapping their presents nowadays anyway .__.''
I had to wrap a gorilla soft toy.. T_T
AND a puppy soft toy, except it was still half in the box... so half was soft, the other half was hard.
I had to use 2 sheets of tissue paper and ribbon ^^
I THINK THEY TURNED OUT OK!!
Especially the dog in box one, because it had a better shape in the end. Lol. :D

Lastly, I had to put together this tricycle/Y-Bike. It's better than a trike, but not quite a bike... if that made any sense...
IT WAS FLURO GREEN.
Yeah...

After, I just sort of dawdled arount, helped out the manager (Shue/Justine) whenever they needed it, and got to change the ticket pricing gun. IT'S SO COOL. Because you just trigger it, and BAM, the sticker's out. :L
Yeah.. I'm pretty lame...

THE TOYS IN KIDSTUFF ARE SO EXPENSIVE.
THE PRAMS WERE ALL LIKE $100+.
But then again, they had this Victorian era/really posh woven basket thing, with frilly coverings etc.

Now I just need to wait until Friday, to know if I've got the job or not!!! ><

After my trial, I had lunch with Laura in Lane Cove!
We had some wedges which were really YUM.
Oh, we also bought 1.25L drinks from Woolworths for $1 each. So yeah, one each. :LL
THEN I WENT HOME.
By bus.
It took so long!!
Well, at least longer than my normal bus trips. Because I had to change at North Sydney.
HAHAHAA. Ok, so when the bus got to North Sydney Station, I saw the 207 across the road, around 100m behind, waiting for the traffic light.
SO I LEGGED IT ACROSS THE ROAD AND MADE IT TO MY BUS STOP. YAY
THAT WAS LIKE THE ONLY TIME WHEN I MADE IT TO A BUS WHEN I SAW IT.
...
Yeah...

I've actually made some progress to my HP robes ;D
I used the template/pattern/tutorial from http://www.dartheagle.com/hp_tutorial.html
So far....
I've cut out all the black fabric. :L
And I think I need to go to Lincraft and buy more green fabric... T.T

day 277: three things you miss
1. Naptime.
2. Wendy's rainbow ice-cream. :( I haven't had it since the store in Chatswood closed! Which was ages ago... like when I was in yr 1/2? DX
3. Real holidays without homework...

until next time;
