Today I went to Frenchs Forest Baptist Church and helped out with the network heaven organisation to wrap presents for kids (and adults?) in Sri Lanka.
It was a really fun day!!
I caught a bus to Chatswood, waited around for Sarah for a bit, then we caught the bus to Frenchs Forest. Thank god for iPhones and wifi. :L We walked up waringah road for a bit, then we finally got to 617 :)
Then we split into groups of around 4. I was with Meggie, Steph S and Wendy :D
Then Anne, the leader(?) gave us a talk as to what we would be doing today/introduction type talk to us.
THEN WE STARTED!!
My group did LOLLIES first. :D
IT WAS SO COOL.
All we had to do was fill a ziplock bag with rock candy. And any that dropped onto the table... could be eaten... Not that that was the main part... ;)
My side (Steph, Ms Banks' son and myself) managed to be a LOT faster than the other side reaching 100 lolly bags (Ms Newman, Steph & Meggie)
Because someone *coughMeggiecough* suddenly had OCD, and decided to count 3 lollies of each colour for each pack.
GOOD IDEA GUYZZ.
Yeah.
That was probably the best bit of the day.
We also sorted tennis balls (good, medium, poor quality), organised piles of stationary, which was REALLY CONFUSING because the lady kept changing her package contents. T.T
We also opened packets of pencils. AREN'T WE JUST SO COOL?!
Oh, we also opened toiletries... like toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs etc... Yeah, because they wanted to minimize packaging as possible? Yeah...
ANYWAY
OH WRAPPING THE PRESENTS WAS PRETTY COOL TOO!
Especially the sticky taping bit ;D
I wonder how those kids are oging to open their presents? :S
The whole thing's taped up!! (It's also got dodgyily gift wrapping as well! :S:S:S)
But it was a really fun dayyy :D
Oh and after that, I got my ceramics from COlour me mine, because I got texted that they were done.
SO YEAY
Now I have 2 very cool pen holders ;D
Except the blue one is really dodgy compared to the red one...
Didn't let it dry :S
So the stripes are... not straight...
And the splattering didn't turn out on either very well either . :|
But they're still very cool! :D
I've just finished watching MULAN 2.
My mum came in whilst I was watching it, and after a few moments, realised I was watching it in English. She laughed. And walked away. :(
day 273: seven things that cross your mind a lot.
1. all the assignments that I should do before term starts
2. Spending too much time in front of the computer....
3. What I'm eating for the next meal
4. If I will ever get a job better than Maccas this year..
5. Why I haven't changed schools yet
6. When did I get so addicted to everything...
7. What would've happened if I didn't exist?
until next time;
