day 269 - Colour me mine
Written at 8:58 PM on 27 September 2011

dear reader;

Today I went to Colour me Mine with Tracy, Steph & Rucha :)
I got there at 11, told the staff that I had a booking under ANNIE for 4... and they told me that we would be painting upstairs, because it was school holidays and it was extra busy. It was actually already full, even though it was only 11!!

So yeah, then I waited upstairs like a loner. :(
Then Steph and Tracy came, told me about this coupon thing which they managed to find online, which entitled them to $5 off their final price. In my head, I was thinking "WHAT ?!?! HOW, AFTER PAINTING AND DOING STUFF AT COLOUR ME MINE for.... nearly 7 years... did I not even realise that some discount even existed?!"
:((((((((((((
THEN I told them about the Frequent Flyer Pass (10 studio fees for $128) which I was willing to buy, since I would probably be coming here more than than them. So yeah, I got that, so basically Steph & Tracy managed to get their ceramics and studio fee $8.20 then the RRP. LOL.

Yeah anyway, back to the normal story, we walked arount the studio, picked our pieces after much deliberation, walked around some more, and finally chose our pieces. Then Rucha came. I think? Ok, well Rucha came eventually.
In the end, Tracy had 2 espresso cups and saucers, Steph had a dinner plate and I had a tumbler cup (which I'm going to use as a pen holder!)

After, we went back upstairs and decided designing.
WE PAINTED.
AND DESIGNED.
And got a little pissed off when our designs didn't really turn out quite how we wanted them to look like.
I decided to design my mug so it would have masking taped stripes, with small splatters. My colour theme was red/pink/orange.
After my final coat, I decided to do splattering on a mini scale...
Picture the black spattered bits: (without the weird house cartoon thing)
On a stripy red tumbler ...
Yeah yeah whatever.
I'll post a picture of it when I get it back!

In between our painting sesh, we went around Crows Nest to fina a nice cheap place for lunch. The Thai place that Steph really wanted to go to near Woolworths was closed! OH DEAR. ALL THAT WORKING GONE. And the place where we had our Musical dinner (Mario's I think?) WAS CLOSED TOO! What's up with everyone being closed on a Tuesday?
In the end we went to this little Thai place somewhere near New Orleans. I think it was called Team Thai or something?
I GOT PAD THAI! ^^
But everyone else got Pad Siew. Lame. -_-

We ate for a while, then decided to walk and eat back to CMM.
MAN THAT LUNCH WAS SALTY.
atyuihgdfsbnm,.mnbvcbnm,
And oily.

ANYWAY.
BACK AT COLOUR ME MINE (It was pretty much past 2:30, close to 3!) I was nearly done. I only had to paint the inside of my mug, and write some random stuff on it. I ended up just writing September 2011. Lol yeah, Lame, I know. TOO BAD OK?!
Yeah.....................
Then I saw that no one else was really close to finishing, so I ended up painting another tumbler! HAHAHAHAHAHAA. :|
Did pretty much the exact same theme/design, except I used blue colours instead of reds.
I think my red one turned out better, because I was a bit rushed with the other one! :L
Yeah.

So in the end, Rucha did this asymmetrical plate with lots of white dots!, Tracy did 2 very dainty /in a way vintage inspired espresso cups/tea cups/little cups, and Steph painted a plate for her parent's 16th anniversary! IT WAS SO ADO.!!!!!

Paid for everything, including the frequent painter pass thing. SO yeah. TOO MANY NUMBERS.Then I went home by bus.

ONCE I WAS HOME, I realised I needed to pick up my sculpture work entry thing from Gallery 307. Ugh. THE EFFORT. Lol jks, I got driven ^^.
Yeah once I got there, I received my prize.
WHICH WAS...................a $75 discount.
On anything from the Northbridge School of Visual Arts.

Yeah I'm not even going to comment on anything related to that.
