day 38- gleeeeee~
Written at 9:21 PM on 07 February 2011

dear reader;

OMG.
have you watched the latest episode of GLEEEEEEEEEEE yet? ;)
it's very good!
they performed thriller.
enough. said.

ooh today was the first ever sailing session!
umm is session the right word? :|
anywho, it was really nice :D
because we got wet [we walked in the water :P]
but not wet wet like surfing :P
the water was a nice temperature~~
...yeah sorta like this. minus the kayak :L
we didn't do much.
just the basic safety and paddling experiences :L
it was 4 people to a boat, so it was tina g, bianca, beverly and i in one boat.......and some other random people in other random boats >_<
my shoes are so gross looking now :(
the back and inside are all black and black >:(
(the backs are black 'cause i was using them as slippers because they were so wet!)

i swear we never managed to go where we were supposed to go. :P

day 38: thoughts on your generation
my generation. generation z..
yeah
we probably spend too much time indoors :P
in front of our computers....
+ on the internet ...........

but before sailing, ihad maths, design + tech and digital media.
mr moorcroft just talks for the whole lesson :\
.... he told us to go on the board of studies website: http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/ and be familiar with the outcomes "so that it wouldn't be so scary in years eleven and twelve" \gahh
and then of course, we went onto his usual ....ramblings.
i think he talked about how the board of studies is changing the 200 hr course to only 70 hrs?! O_O
but i may have heard wrong..... XP

after dt, it was digital media with ms BOR.
shes pretty ...cool i guess :L
since she's new to the school. and young-er than ms cheney. LOL :P
we talked about this roland barthes dude...who wrote a book called "camera lucida" , which talks about the rule of thirds (in photography.)i ceebs to explain :L

the last (proper) period for the day was maths.
with mrs lindsay. eeeewwww.
she made us do a lot more work...than what mr melville told us to do >:|
haha
and it was really funny in maths today:
so mrs lindsay called someone (i forgot who) like....what this answer was, rounded to 4 significant figures (yeah, that's what we're doing atm).
and the 'someone' forgot to put a zero somewhere, so mrs lindsay said "you mean naught, point naught naught?"
and then the 'someone' was like "oh yes, how naugh-ty of me"
IT WAS VERY FUNNY.
:PPPPPP
ok maybe not that funny...but it was funny at the time ok???!! XP
*sigh* that's how sad and lame my life has become T.T

from wikipedia:

Generation Z is highly connected, many of this generation have had lifelong use of communications and media technologies such as the World Wide Web, instant messaging, text messaging, MP3 players, mobile phones and YouTube, earning them the nickname "digital natives". No longer limited to the home computer, the Internet is now increasingly carried in their pockets on mobile Internet devices such as mobile phones. A marked difference between Generation Y and Generation Z, is that older members of the former remember life before the takeoff of mass technology, while the latter have been born completely within it. Some can be described as impatient and instant minded, and tending to lack the ambition of previous generations. Psychologists are claiming an "acquired Attention Deficit Disorder" since their dependency on technology is high and attention span is much lower, as opposed to previous generations who read books and other printed material, along with watching live television. They are also more consumer-oriented than the previous generation, which was focused on technology, retro, and indie culture.
Generation Z are also more individualistic. While members of Generation Y are group and team oriented, members of Generation Z are more self directed. Parents of Generation Z are working part time or are becoming stay-at-home parents so that children are raised by them and other family members instead of a day care facility, which forces children to be in groups. However, Soccer moms and helicopter parents are just as common with these members as with children of the previous generation. Despite being in a day care facilities, many children have structured extracurricular activities, reducing free playtime. Parents are becoming more like advisers to this generation.
A small percentage of Generation Z was also reported to have above average intelligence and have ambitions as strong as the other generations, leading to the alternate name of Dreamer Generation.

until next time;
