no but seriously, it's really nice. it's sort of like that feeling you get when you accidentally swallow some toothpaste whilst you're brushing your teeth... maybe only i know because i do it... occasionally...
but it's very refreshing, and effective ^^
i highly recommend it for those with chesty coughs. :P
... after having my daily medicing. argh fml man; i'm only 14, but have daily medicine.. -_-
i attempted to finish my earth's fragile crust assignment.
has anyone actually finished anything in the past week? O_O
or has everyone just been you know... chilling... ... /?
anyway; i did like 1 question out of the 25. that's like 4% less to do. :P
theeeeeeeen; my dad came to take my mum and i to the art gallery, to view the archibald~
it was so busy man! .___.
like the line to get in nearly went to the end of the hallway...
i guess it was only busy because it was like the first weekend... prbably not the best time to go and see it. but meh; at least i've seen it now :D
for those of you who don't know;
is the winner of this year's archibald.
archibald:
The Archibald Prize is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious art awards. It is awarded annually to the best portrait, 'preferentially of some man or woman distinguished in art, letters, science or politics’, which must have been painted from life.
JF Archibald’s primary aims were to foster portraiture, support artists and perpetuate the memory of great Australians.
Since its inception in 1921 the prize has been awarded to some of Australia’s most important artists, including George Lambert, William Dobell and Brett Whiteley.
The winner receives $50,000.
yeah.
haha, my teacher's one was like.... high.
it was hanging on top of the archway thingo, leading into the other room for the archibald..
it's position made it seem really superior. like GOD.
it was like god because it was just of like... a human head (john coatzee) and his eyes were like... looking down on everyone. awesome position if i say so myself :L
my teacher's "rival" Jiawei shen entry was like... odd.
ok odd isn't really the right word, since most of the works were ''odd". but after viewing his solo (?) exhibition earlier this year, his works aren't really....his own style...
like he literally uses other artists works, and like... changes the face or something.
it's like highschooler's using copying and pasting, and just dumbing down something to write in an essay. LOL
but yeah
apparantly it was shen's 12th time as a finalist O_O
so yeahhhhhhh.
the wynne and sulman exhibitions were weird. especially the sulman. it's kinda disturbing if you ask me...
but seriouly, everyone should go and check it out ^^
even KEN DONE made it as a finalist :O
..you DO know who he is right.... o-o
AFTER THE ARCHIBALD we went to the powerhosue museum to view the designtech HSC works.
most of them were pretty um.. ...
but the one (according to the board of studies) which really... err were special prize worthy was the double bass thingo~
blahblahblah
but far out man, they only had like 27 works on display.
not worth my $5. ...
after the powerhouse, we walked to chinatown to have some lunch.
we had ZHU MAMA
that dodgy looking place which has the most... authentic dishes. yay for using a smart-ish work in the holidays! lol :P
then we waited in line for EMPEROR PUFFS, aminly because the line was really long and we weren't bothered to go anywhere else. my mum was all "they have to be good, other wise there wouldn't be such a long line. ..." she then goes "i bet at least half of the people are here because of curiosity..."
THEY'RE REALLY YUM
AND SUCH A BARGAIN TOOOOOO.
they're like $0.30 for 1
or $1 for 4!
NOMNOMNOM.
yeah.... after nmming on the, it was time for me to go to art.
but before we went, we saw these random church people singing..
(they're in the distance...)
their ummm.... priest? is that what they're called ? O_O
was speaking in chinglish.
and hong-glish....
err yeah
they were signing really out of tune.
but it was cute.
then i went to art.
and i painted some more trees. or bushes. and a roof! :O
i only did the right third today. i did the middle bit last week :L
IT LOOKS KEWL.
SPEAKING OF COOL....
MY OIL PAINTING (for the easter show) GOT SOLD ALREADY!!!
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
**happy dance**
..i think i need to find a better happy dance...
but yayyyyyyy it got sold !! :D:D:D
and note that the show only opened on thursday... and my painting got sold on saturday ;)
yeah they called me and left a voicemail :D:D
yayyyy
oh, and the conversation that i had with my art teacher about it:
me: "oh yeah, teacher zhang (err..spoken in shan btw...) my painting got sold !" :D
him:"oh really?! woaah.... how much? $150? $200?
me: "....$50............"
him:"............"
me:"i didn't think anyone would want to buy it."
him:"you should've at least made it over $100. -_- $50 hardly even covers like the cost of your canvas!"
me: "...i'll keep that in mind next time. . ."
him:"i'm selling my archibald entry this year for $60 000. and three companies have already taken interest to it"
me: "..."<- but seriously,
i bet when he was 14, he was like... idk. studying and doing maths in china or something. SO I RECKON IM MORE Successful THAN HIM. BOOYEAH.
it's my first time entering the show, so i think i've done pretty well ^^
yayyyy. i feel cool.
and i will be $50 richer. :D :D
my aim.....
is to get a painting to sell for $750 before i turn 16.
XP
...it's only an aim. LOL
yayyyy
lalala
i don't think anyone's gonna wnat my lighthouse thingo. i should've switched the prices ==''
